Christopher Louis
I met Christopher at Rivers of Hope Orphanage in August of 2009 when we travelled to Haiti. I worked at the orphanage for a few days. Rachel, the director, told me that Christopher had Sickle Cell disease and she really needed to find a family for him so he would have proper care.
Christopher is a sweet little man. He turned 2 in October. There is an organization called The Red Thread Promise that has been working on getting him to the U.S. for medical treatment. They have had Tulane Hospital in New Orleans offer to assess and treat Christopher if they can get him there.
We have been working at getting Christopher out of Haiti. It is even more necessary for him to be in the U.S. and near available hospitals after the earthquake. In his short little life he has been hospitalized twice that I know of for going into crisis with his Sickle Cell. This can be very painful and dangerous.
Kathy, with The Red Thread Promise is traveling to Haiti in March, April and May. We hope that Christopher will be released for Humanitarian Parole and able to travel back to the States with her during one of her trips. I will then either fly to Miami to meet them, or to New Orleans. Whichever is required of me at the time.
The kids are SO excited about having a little brother. Shane and I are SO excited about having a little boy. It's been 13 years since I had a 2 year old boy running around. : )

Hi
I just wanted to introduce ourselves. We are Keith and Irene Barron. We adopted Taino and Tania, Christopher's bio siblings.
If it is okay with you we would love to 'meet' and get to know each other and hopefully keep the children connected some how.
I also wanted to pass on our congratulations on your new addition to your family. Praying he will be home with you soon. Christopher is a wonderful little boy, with the cutest smile, he shares those same big brown eyes with his brother and sister, you and he are truly blessed.
If you wish, please email me on
